The marquee event of the weekend is the Canadian Cyclocross Championships, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24. Come out to cheer on some of the country’s top athletes and witness the crowning of a new slate of Canadian Champions.

This will be followed on Sunday, Oct. 25 by the Manitoba Grand Prix of Cyclocross, an international competition open to professional and amateur racers. Several notable American racers will be on hand to challenge the newly crowned Canadian champions.

The weekend will begin on Friday, Oct. 23 with the Kick Cancer Cyclocross Derby, a series of fun races for riders of all abilities that will also be a fundraiser for the Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation. The festivities will include events that will serve to introduce newcomers to the sport of cyclocross and its unique culture. The races are geared to the general public and don’t presume any prior experience with cyclocross or even bike racing at all. They’re mostly designed to demonstrate just how much fun cyclocross can be and why so many of us get hooked. So grab a bike and come on out to see what all the fuss is about.
